As a Placerville wedding photographer, I get to witness so many beautiful love stories—but this one was truly something special. These two first met as kids in elementary school right here in Placerville, California, and years later, they returned to the very same spot to say “I do.” Their wedding was filled with deep roots, personal touches, and the kind of joy that only decades of shared history can bring.
A Sacred Ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church
The couple chose to hold their ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Placerville. With soft light pouring through the stained glass windows and heartfelt words shared by the priest, the setting felt both intimate and grand. The love between them was undeniable, and as a photographer, it was a privilege to capture such meaningful moments in a space so close to their hearts.
A Full-Circle Moment at Their Elementary School
After the ceremony, we made a sentimental stop: the elementary school where they first met as children. Years later, it was also where he proposed, right on the basketball courts they once played on. We even took portraits next to the custom tiles they made back in grade school. Watching the bride in her gown point to her childhood artwork felt like witnessing a beautiful time capsule come to life.
Royal Touches and Thoughtful Details
The bride wore gloves handmade by the same artisan who designs gloves for the Queen of England. They were custom-made with a delicate opening to showcase her wedding ring, blending classic elegance with personal flair. Every detail of the day was a reflection of who they are—thoughtful, timeless, and full of heart.
A Wedding Reception at the Bride’s Childhood Placerville Home
The celebration continued at the bride’s childhood home, a place she had dreamed of getting married in since she was a little girl. The backyard was transformed into a warm and inviting reception space, filled with twinkle lights, laughter, and love. It was the perfect mix of nostalgia and celebration. During sunset portraits, we were able to use the property she used to explore as a child, for her wedding portraits.
