Everything seemed to fall perfectly into place—from a lively and energetic bridal party to flawless weather. Wildlife even appeared during the portraits, adding a touch of wonder to the day. And at the heart of it all was the sweetest couple, making every moment a joy to capture.
Getting Ready
The couple chose to get ready off-site, which is an option I often recommend for this The Chateau at Incline Village. The bride prepared for the day in the most charming, modern, and bright A-frame condo alongside her bridal party. With its beautiful natural light and exposed beams, the space offered endless opportunities for stunning photos.
One of the most heartfelt moments was when the bride presented her mother with a commissioned artwork of the two of them in their gowns during the getting-ready portion. It was such a meaningful and emotional gesture. To avoid wrinkling her dress, the bride chose to put her gown and shoes on at the venue itself.
While the ladies embraced bright and airy vibes, the guys opted for a more rugged aesthetic. They got ready in a rustic cabin just a short distance away. The cozy, woodsy charm of the cabin provided the perfect masculine contrast. To kick things off, the groomsmen requested game-day-inspired shots as they arrived, each showcasing their unique personality with a confident stride. Once dressed, they ventured into the surrounding woods, where we captured some playful and spirited groomsmen portraits that truly reflected their camaraderie.
First Looks
My bride chose to have a first look with both her father and her groom, creating two deeply emotional and memorable moments. We set both first looks at The Chateau at Incline Village, where the golf course offered a stunning backdrop. With time running tight and guests beginning to arrive, we added a creative twist: the groomsmen stepped in as “secret service,” ensuring the bride remained hidden as she moved to and from the location. This playful yet practical detail added a touch of fun to the day. Both first looks were incredibly beautiful, filled with heartfelt emotion and genuine connection.
Ceremony
The ceremony was held right on the golf course, nestled within the breathtaking Lake Tahoe forest. The couple had a custom-built arch designed to resemble a picture frame, beautifully adorned with elegant white florals. The result was an effortlessly chic setting, perfect for their vows. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the moment felt intimate and timeless. After the ceremony, we captured heartfelt photos with loved ones, followed by fun and stylish shots with the bridal party, creating memories as stunning as the setting itself.
Reception
For their reception, the couple made the most of The Chateau at Incline Village by utilizing both the scenic patio and the elegant indoor reception hall. The celebration was elevated by live music and personal touches; including a custom bar sign featuring their beloved dogs. One of the most playful elements of the evening was their custom wedding sunglasses. They encouraged every guest to wear them for a quick photo. This turned into a lively game that added a fun, interactive twist to the night. After a picturesque cocktail hour on the patio, the couple made a grand entrance into the reception hall. This kicked things off with their heartfelt first dance. The evening continued with a delicious dinner, touching speeches, and the classic cake-cutting moment, all wrapped in the joy and love of their special day.
Portraits
To wrap up the day, we stole a quiet moment away from the reception to capture some breathtaking sunset portraits. The Chateau at Incline Village, nestled in the heart of Lake Tahoe’s woods, provided an unforgettable and unique backdrop for these final images. Despite being a golf course, the natural beauty surrounding the venue added an ethereal touch to our session. During the portraits, we even had a surprise visit from a curious coyote, adding to the magic of the moment.
One of my favorite details from the portraits was when the bride shared the special pin on her bouquet. It held a piece of every woman in her family’s wedding gowns, passed down through generations—such a meaningful and unique sentiment I had never seen before. To finish off our portrait session, the bride invited her mom to join her for a heartwarming recreation of a piece of art she had commissioned, adding another beautiful layer to the day’s memories.
