A stunning winter wedding at Tannenbaum in Lake Tahoe. Featuring an indoor ceremony and reception. Followed by outdoor portraits in the chilly Tahoe weather.
When the weather took a turn for the worse for this Tahoe winter wedding, the planning team worked quickly to move things inside. Although chilly and stormy, this Tannenbaum wedding was nothing short of incredible from start to finish.
Getting Ready
The couple chose to get ready on-site, taking full advantage of everything Tannenbaum offers. One of my favorite features of this venue is its two thoughtfully designed getting-ready suites. They create the perfect setting for capturing those intimate, pre-ceremony moments.
In the bride’s suite, she prepared for her special day alongside her mother and best friend. Soft, natural light poured through the window, casting a gentle glow over the room. As she touched up her hair and makeup in the mirror, she paused to take in the breathtaking, snow-kissed views outside. It was a serene and heartfelt start to what would become an unforgettable day.
In the adjacent room, the bride shared laughs and lighthearted moments with her family and friends. A friendly game of pool and glasses of champagne set the tone for a fun and relaxed start to the day.
Dressed in a sleek white tuxedo, she looked effortlessly sharp and stylish, perfectly complementing the snow-dusted Tahoe winter backdrop. The unique and joyful energy in this space was the perfect balance to the quiet, heartfelt moments unfolding just a room away.
Ceremony
When you plan a Tahoe winter wedding, you embrace the beauty—and unpredictability—of the season. Although the couple had dreamed of an outdoor ceremony, the weather had other plans. Fortunately, the incredible planning team at Tannenbaum quickly adapted. They seamlessly transitioned the ceremony indoors.
The fireplace at Tannenbaum proved to be a stunning centerpiece, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere as the couple exchanged their vows. Surrounded by the warmth of their friends and family, the moment was nothing short of magical.
Reception
For the reception, the sweetheart table was elegantly placed in front of the arch and fireplace. This created a picture-perfect focal point. A neon sign featuring the couple’s married name, paired with stunning white florals, added a modern and romantic touch to the already gorgeous backdrop.
The couple made a grand entrance, stepping into the reception with joyful energy. That led seamlessly into their first dance. From there, guests were treated to an incredible dinner, expertly crafted by Tannenbaum’s in-house catering team—one of the many features that makes this venue stand out.
Instead of a traditional cake-cutting alone, the couple surprised everyone with something extra special: a champagne tower! Stepping outside into chilly air, they poured champagne together, sharing a celebratory kiss over the sparkling cascade.
The evening continued with heartfelt speeches that brought laughter and tears, followed by a packed dance floor filled with killer moves and unforgettable moments.
Portraits
Before the evening grew too chilly, the couple stepped outside to capture some beautiful portraits. One of the magical things about a Tahoe winter wedding is the possibility of snow—and we got lucky! A light snowfall began to dance around the couple, creating a truly picturesque moment that felt like it was straight out of a fairytale.
While we kept the portraits simple and sweet due to the cold, they turned out absolutely stunning. The snow-covered backdrop, paired with the quiet intimacy of the moment, gave the couple a brief escape to soak in their love and the beauty of the day away from the festivities.
