There’s something so special about a Tahoe winter engagement session, especially when it’s filled with love, laughter, and a little adventure. This session was such a joy to capture, and Lake Tahoe provided the most stunning backdrop for it all.
We started in the forest, where a light dusting of snow covered the ground. The tall evergreens and golden sunlight filtering through the trees made everything feel so cozy and intimate. These two were so natural together, sharing quiet moments and lots of laughter, making my job incredibly easy.
The Dachshund Cameo
After soaking up the forest vibes, we headed down to the beach, where the lake was calm, reflecting the soft hues of the setting sun. Their friends met us there, bringing along their adorable Dachshund, who obviously had to be included in a few photos. He was an absolute ham and looked right at the camera, stealing the show from the couple. It’s always so fun when couples bring their pets—it adds such a personal touch and a little extra energy to the session! After he was done making his cameo, he ran around playing with pine-cones along the water’s edge.
As the sun dipped behind the mountains, they popped some champagne to celebrate. It was one of those evenings that reminded me why I love photographing in Tahoe so much. The scenery, the golden light, and, most of all, the people who make these moments so meaningful.
I’m so grateful to have been a part of this special Tahoe winter engagement. Lake Tahoe truly never disappoints, and this session was a perfect example of why it’s such a dreamy place to get engaged. If you ever find yourself here in the mountains, take a moment to soak it all in—it’s pure magic.
